[UNPUBLISHED:] I’m obsessed with the new song and have been for a while now. I first heard you guys perform it months ago when you opened up for Joywave. How does it feel to have it out?

[DAWSON:] It feels so good. We’ve been playing this one for so long and it’s really taken on a life of its own with fans. I was a bit nervous though because I felt it had a lot of anticipation with fans and I wanted it to live up to the hype of it live. But overall, I’m so excited that it’s finally here.

[UNPUBLISHED:] How has everyone around you reacted to the release?

[LUKE:] It’s been honestly pretty overwhelming in the best sort of way. I think “cough drops” has been the most anticipated single that we’ve released thus far so it's cool to see people so excited about this release.

[UNPUBLISHED:] Has your perception of the song changed now that it is finally out?

[LUKE:] We’ve been playing the song for a minute now so I feel like it already has its own personality from just playing it live but that may change now that it's actually out.

[UNPUBLISHED:] What was your inspiration behind the song?

[DAWSON:] I think it came from a place of wanting a really great live song. We were thinking a lot about the live show in those sessions.

[UNPUBLISHED:] What was the process of creating the song?

[DAWSON:] It was super easy. We got in with our producer Simon and really just talked again about wanting to get our live show in a good place. The song came really naturally and fast. We got super lucky.

[UNPUBLISHED:] I feel like a lot of your music is pretty upbeat and gives off an indie-pop vibe. This song to me feels a lot more rock-influenced and is more fast-paced. What was the inspiration behind the change?

[LUKE:] Honestly, coming out of the pandemic and playing live shows again influenced us to write music that worked well live. We are all inspired by artists that are more rock-leaning and “cough drops” is our interpretation of that.

[UNPUBLISHED:] How do you think your sound has developed since you first started making music?

[LUKE:] I think we’ve become more comfortable with ourselves and with making music that we want to make. It has been a process developing and finding our sound but I am excited about “cough drops” and the upcoming releases.

[UNPUBLISHED:] Do you have a favorite part of the video that you shot?

[COLE:] Shooting in the grass amphitheater was my favorite. That location in the park looks so picturesque and the crazy grass formation with the blue-sky background looks surreal and turned out amazing on film.

[UNPUBLISHED:] Do you have any memorable moments from shooting the video?

[COLE:] Just seeing the park for the first time and how beautiful and well-designed every detail of it was incredible. We also had breakfast and lunch overlooking the park in between shooting and it was the most pleasant music video shoot experience.

[UNPUBLISHED:] What is your favorite cough drop flavor?

[ALMOST MONDAY:] Cherry

[UNPUBLISHED:] F*ck, Marry, Kill cough drop flavors - Cherry, Honey Lemon, or Menthol/Mint

[ALMOST MONDAY:] F*ck - Cherry, Marry - Honey Lemon, and Kill - Menthol/Mint.
