DREAMERS on Their Newest EP, 'Wallow In It'

[UNPUBLISHED:] The last time we caught up with DREAMERS was back in November, how have you been since then?

[DREAMERS:] Been fantastic, as well as angsty and unsettled at the same time. It’s a very interesting but strange time to be alive.

[UNPUBLISHED:] Congratulations on your new EP, Wallow In It! What are you most excited about regarding the project?

[DREAMERS:] Thank you! I’m so excited to be releasing some of the newer music, we’ve been taking this in a darker and more passionate direction. It’s a taste of what’s to come from us.  I love the EP artwork (which I generated with AI, and is inspired by 90s sci-fi book covers.)

[UNPUBLISHED:] Do you have a favorite song off the EP?

[DREAMERS:] Internet Junkie” is my favorite, it’s in the style of an early 90s grunge heroin song, but it’s about internet addiction. I think just about everyone is addicted to the internet at this point.

[UNPUBLISHED:] Do you have a favorite lyric from the project?

[DREAMERS:] In “Internet Junkie” I say “I’m getting dumber the more that I read, thinner the more that I feed.” I really like that one, because reading is supposed to make you smarter, but so much of the content I see online is such mindless brain-rot.  It’s like feeding on empty nutrition-less food and getting nothing from it.

[UNPUBLISHED:] What was the inspiration behind the title “Wallow In It”?

[DREAMERS:] “Wallow In It” is a happy and fun song about being sad. Sometimes I have this feeling that’s sadness, but it feels sweet, like I want more of it. Sometimes I just wanna listen to sad music or read existential books and be alone to think and wallow in the feeling of it. I don’t know if many other people relate to that, but I know some will.

[UNPUBLISHED:] If you could feature any artist on any of the songs off of the EP, who would it be and why?

[DREAMERS:] I’ve said before that I would want to write with Kurt Cobain, just to pick his brain and try to figure out how he thought about songs. But at this moment I’d want to feature David Bowie. I’m starting to write more philosophical sci-fi inspired songs and I feel Bowie has a great mind for that.  Plus he collaborated so well with other artists.

[UNPUBLISHED:] How do you hope your fans receive it?

[DREAMERS:] Especially nowadays, I often feel like I’m writing in a bubble, then I toss the stuff out into a void. I know people are hearing it, but without seeing them face to face it can feel surreal. I just hope some people can listen alone and deeply connect with some of songs,  and feel the great things that I felt while making them.

[UNPUBLISHED:] What is a fun fact that not many people know about you?

[DREAMERS:] I have a passion for sci-fi and fantasy, and coding video games.  I’m currently close to releasing my first VR video game (it’s called ‘BATTLETRONICA’, and a free demo will be out soon!)

[UNPUBLISHED:] What are some things you've been loving lately?

[DREAMERS:] Everyone’s talking about it, but I’ve been loving using the new AI tools that are coming out. I’m marveling what they can already do and at the potential for what they’ll be able to do soon. I think it’s a massive arrival, and it’s going to change the way all media is created. I love wondering about the future, learning about the universe, and eating Italian food.
