Meet Sanai! She is a proud New Yorker, 15 years, and counting. Her nose was always stuck in the warm pages of a book as a child, and now she writes personal essays, short stories, and poems. Writing gives her the chance to learn more about herself, her community, and our beautiful, messy world. Over quarantine, she launched her blog, won runner up in the New York Times Summer Reading Contest, and graduated from Barnard’s Young Women’s Writers Institute.
When she isn’t writing, you can find her on Tik Tok, thrifting with her friends or obsessing over Timothée Chalamet and Drake. She is always watching films, and her favorites are The Big Lebowski, Birdman, Ladybird, and Brokeback Mountain. She loves concerts, and musicians like Kanye West, Rex Orange County, and Frank Ocean always make her smile. All in all, when the day ends, you can find Sanai eating steak, drinking chamomile tea, and reading Toni Morrison until she falls asleep🍵 🦋 Her writing journey is just beginning, but one day the whole world will be fleeing to Sanai’s block to indulge in the path of her blossoming, beautiful words.
